Digital Skills Academy Launches for Public Administration, Backed by the EU

Andonovski: digital transformation happens through people, not just new systems. Scope and duration remain unspecified.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation, with EU support, has launched a Digital Skills Academy for public administration — a programme for civil servants aimed at improving their capacity to use, develop and upgrade digital systems.

"Digital transformation does not happen only through new systems. It happens through people who know how to use, develop and improve those systems. We continue investing in knowledge, capacity and a modern public administration," Minister Stefan Andonovski said.

According to the ministry, participants should become people who understand the systems, use them better, help improve them, and pass on digital culture within their own institutions — with the longer-term goal of better use of national information systems.

No statement so far specifies how many employees will go through the Academy, how long the training will last, or which specific institutions are part of the first cohort. Those questions remain unanswered, and they are exactly what will show whether this is a systemic change or a one-off training round.
