Macedonia's Men at EuroVolley 2026: Two 0–3 Losses, to Bulgaria and Ukraine
Gjorgiev scored eight against the hosts, but Macedonia have taken no sets after two matches in Sofia.
North Macedonia's men at the 2026 European Volleyball Championship in Sofia lost their first two matches 0–3. Against Bulgaria the sets finished 25–17, 25–19, 25–18. Against Ukraine the score was also 3–0. Nikola Gjorgiev had eight points, the most on the Macedonian side, against the hosts.
Bulgaria came in as world runners-up and played in a full Arena Sofia. Ukraine then took control of the group. For Macedonia it is a hard start: two matches, no sets.
The side rarely reaches the last stage of a European championship. Any set won would have been news. There were none. That does not erase the road to Sofia, but it narrows the road out.

On a Sunday without a domestic football derby, this is the national team in a foreign hall. The score is plain. The remaining games will show whether the group is shut or whether a set and a point are still possible.
